Alumni Council of Thunderbird

The Alumni Council of Thunderbird (ACT), composed of alumni leaders from multiple continents, generations and industries, serves as a representative body of T-birds worldwide. The Thunderbird alumni community is the school’s greatest asset, and together alumni and the school can maximize Thunderbirds’ influence in the world and impact future generations of business leaders.  We are One Thunderbird. The ACT promises to listen to, serve and benefit the entire alumni community of Thunderbird.

Ana Iglesias ’11, New ACT Member

Boston, MA

Ana Iglesias ’11 was born and raised primarily in Monterrey, Mexico. She is a legacy T-bird, the daughter of a fellow Thunderbird alumnus, Tomas Iglesias ’83, who had multiple expat jobs. Ana grew up in Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico, thanks to her dad. She attended Universidad de Monterrey as an undergraduate where she received a degree in International Commerce. Ana then studied International Finance at Macquarie University in Australia. After graduation, she worked in Mexico in global supply chain roles as an Import-Export and Logistics Manager, and as an International Purchasing Coordinator. To expand her international education, she completed her MBA as a full time student at Thunderbird with a concentration in Global Supply Chain Management. Currently, she works for Cisco Systems in a dual role as a Product Lifecycle Program Manager and New Product Program Manager, in the Supply Chain Organization for Product Operations for the Mobile Internet Technology Group.  Read more…

Kevin Glynn ’90, New ACT Member

Evanston, IL

Kevin Glynn ’90 is the CIO of A.M. Castle & Co., where he is responsible for all information technology worldwide, including IT operations, new system developments, and telecommunications. He is the principal author of Castle’s 2013 restructuring plan, which yielded $33 million in savings. From mid-2012 until early 2013, Kevin was acting VP of Operations for Castle and oversaw continued improvements in safety, reductions in overall energy costs, and the disposal of unnecessary real estate. Prior to this, he was COO of IRON Solutions, CIO of Case New Holland and a Vice President with Oracle Corporation, holding P&L positions based in Europe, the U.S., and Latin America. Kevin’s early career includes positions at Qualcomm, as an Industrial Engineer, and at Carlisle Memory Products where he led supply chain and industrial engineering functions. Kevin has an MIM from Thunderbird and a B.S. from Northwestern University. He is Chairman of the Board of Advisors to Northwestern University’s Master of Science of Information Technology; and co-Chair of the City of Evanston’s Environment Board. Read more…

Lawrence Masle ’94, New ACT Member

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Lawrence Masle ’94 is a multi-lingual, international marketing and business development advisor based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His entrepreneurial expertise has helped companies expand their businesses on a global basis. He has worked on the agency side for Young & Rubicam and in senior global management roles for Ericsson and Philips. Lawrence has a passion for innovation and enabling technologies, and works from mobile offices anywhere in the world. He has served as Director of International Business Development for Waleli, an innovation accelerator based in Amsterdam. He also served on the Marketing faculty of the Management Centre Europe in Brussels, Belgium. He received his B.S. from Rochester Institute of Technology and his MBA/MIM from Thunderbird. Lawrence has lived and worked for 20 years in Stockholm, London, and now Amsterdam. He is one of the founding members of *UP There, Everywhere, the world’s first global cloud-based agency. He is married, has two boys, serves on the school board, and is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce. He is also an avid runner, and welcomes any opportunity to go skiing. Read more…

Paul Bradley ’87, New ACT Member


Paul W. Bradley has been involved in international business throughout his entrepreneurial career spanning senior management positions in Fortune 500 companies, the creation of 7 start-up companies and the launching of two IPO’s. He has established new business entities in China, South East Asia, India and the United States. Mr. Bradley is the Chairman and CEO of Caprica International. He also serves on the Asian Advisory Board for the joint venture Avista Houlihan Lokey investment bank; Vice Chairman and Board Member of Supply Chain Asia; and Advisory Board of the Kairos Society for the ASEAN Region. He previously served as President of Arshiya International headquartered in India (publicly traded on the Bombay Stock Exchange) and as Managing Director of IDS International (a member of the Li & Fung Group, publicly traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange). He also mentors new Tech Ventures. Mr. Bradley received his MBA Degree in International Management from Thunderbird, School of Global Management. He was selected by the World Economic Forum as one of the forty “New Asian Leaders” at an award ceremony presented by His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan and was selected as “Asian Supply Chain Manager of the Year” by Lloyds FTB Publications. He previously worked in the U.S. Senate and the British House of Commons and has served on several Singapore Government Advisory Committees. He is a frequent speaker at global conferences and universities, has written published articles and has been interviewed by Newsweek, Fox Television, the Economic Times of India, the Business Times of Singapore, Excellency Magazine in the UAE, Supply Chain Vietnam and other global media. Robert Omer ’96, New ACT Member

Robert Omer ’96 is the co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Omer Legal Group, with offices in Germany and the U.S., which offers legal services to individual and corporate clients worldwide. Prior to the Omer Legal Group, Robert was a Principal of and General Counsel for Summit Investment Management LLC in Denver, Colorado. While at Summit, he worked with international banks, insurance companies, private equity investors and hedge funds. Prior to Summit, he worked at Republic Financial Corporation, a private investment group, also in Denver. As Republic’s corporate counsel, Robert managed their business units’ legal activities and worked on corporate acquisitions and financing transactions, including cross-border and international transactions. When in private practice, he represented a diverse client base and was instrumental in developing his firm’s aviation practice. Robert was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in St. Louis. He earned his J.D. and B.A. degrees from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He also holds an MBA from Thunderbird. He is a member of the Kansas and Colorado Bar Associations and is also a member of the Rechsanwaltskammer Frankfurt Am Main (RAK Frankfurt) as a U.S. Attorney at Law. Read more…

Barry Kofi King ‘14, New ACT Member

Accra, Ghana

Barry Kofi King ’14 is a Thunderbird MBA and recipient of Thunderbird’s SHARE Fellowship for leadership in developing economies with a focus area in Global Business Marketing. Barry has five years of experience in commercial banking with Ecobank, the largest banking group in Africa where he was a Learning and Development Manager in West Africa and an E-banking Sales and Support Manager. Barry is a passionate youth mentor, serving with the Center for Talented Youth Program at Johns Hopkins University, Camp Hilltop in New York, and the Sahara Springs Sports Outreach Program run by Athletes-In-Action, USA in Mali. He has supported volunteer causes like the Thunder Cares-Habitat for Humanity Program, and the Ecobank Charity Foundation. Barry was a Campus Ambassador for Thunderbird, a Student-in-Resident for EducationUSA in Accra and an active member of a wide variety of Thunderbird clubs. A former team captain of the Commonwealth Hall Soccer team at the University of Ghana and coach of the Psychology Student’s Soccer team, he is an accomplished and active sportsman in soccer, volleyball and table tennis. Walter Baker ’83, New ACT Member

Walter Baker ’83 is Managing Partner, USA, of Alexander Hughes International, a globally integrated executive search firm. He has 25 years of executive search experience and has recruited many senior level executives in the private and the public sector. He has partnered with multiple global organizations to build and execute recruitment strategies to fill client leadership positions. He maintains offices in Miami and New York. Walter focuses primarily on multinational clients dedicated to growing cross-border business. He conducts searches across multiple functions and industries and partners with clients to identify and recruit leaders for executives to lead global or regional enterprises. Walter receives more than three-quarters of his business from repeat clients, and much of his work is for executive positions at the VP level and above. Prior to joining Alexander Hughes, he co-founded and was Managing Partner of Meridian Partners, the U.S. member firm of Signium International, a global provider of leadership services. Walter is active in many civic and professional organizations. He has an MIM from Thunderbird and a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts. Ron Okenfuss ’96, New ACT Member

St. Paul, MN

Ron Okenfuss ’96 is a global organizational and management expert with more than 17 years’ experience in global sales and operational capabilities. After graduating from Thunderbird, Ron joined GSK’s German office supporting the GM and the Finance Director and was later promoted to a line role in Marketing. He was then recruited by GSK’s International Division President to improve forecasting, build a global supply chain organization, deliver cost reductions, and create products for emerging consumers which helped grow the division from $1.2 billion to over $3 billion by 2010. An expert in leading global teams and projects, Ron built organizations encompassing Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Australia, India, China, Japan, Asia, Eastern Europe and North America. Functionally, Ron is a generalist with roles in Finance, P&L responsibility in Marketing, Product Design & Development, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Leadership, and SAP Deployments. An avid cyclist, hiker, cross country skier, and amateur photographer, Ron lives in St. Paul, MN with his wife Jenneke, a Professor of Dutch and German at the University of Minnesota. Read more…

Juarez Lowe ’03, New ACT Member

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Juarez Lowe ’03 received his law degree from the University of Bristol. He then worked in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a corporate litigator. His clients included the KL Stock Exchange, Securities Commission, Nestlé, Petronas, Boustead, Fima and RHB. He then moved to Cycle & Carriage Ltd in Singapore in the Corporate Affairs department, later transfering to Mitsubishi’s sales division where his team reached sales targets within six months. In 2002, he received a Fulbright grant to study for an MBA at Thunderbird. While at Thunderbird, he became a certified mediator and helped teach Cross Cultural Communication and various Finance classes. Subsequently, Johnson & Johnson hired him under their International Recruitment Development Program. During his time in brand management, he grew the business by 34% and also managed events for J&J Malaysia. His work with Sapura Auto, a recently appointed BMW dealer, resulted in it tripling sales to become the second largest branch in Malaysia. Juarez’ experience in sales, marketing and law across a wide variety of industries helps him to identify and develop business solutions. Colleen Foster ’84, New ACT Member

Kabul, Afghanistan

Colleen Foster ‘84 is the founding partner and principal of Colleen M. Foster & Associates, an international marketing services company focused on the food, agricultural and sustainability markets. She is on the business faculty at the American University of Afghanistan and also working on industry development projects in the agricultural and energy sectors. Colleen has a broad range of competencies in operations, marketing, sales, channel management, communications and public relations. She began her career at 3M where she held a variety of international and domestic positions in business management, strategic planning, corporate marketing and communications, sales, as well as managing the operational sides of several businesses. She is an active member of several professional organizations and specializes in international marketing management and brand strategy development. Recent project work includes B2B marketing projects on sustainability and consumer insights projects on food initiatives. She recently completed a large development project on solar energy for an international airport. Colleen has lived, worked and studied in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Indonesia in addition to Afghanistan. Colleen has an MIM from Thunderbird and a BA from the University of Minnesota. Xavier Paillon, ’93, New ACT Member

Montreal, Canada

Xavier Paillon ’93 is a Managing Partner of France Interview, a market research firm he co-founded in 2014. At France Interview, Xavier is in charge of sales for North America. Xavier has built a solid experience in business development across a wide range of industries in Europe. Most recently he was Business Development Director for Export Vision based in Scottsdale, AZ, which he joined in 2007. In this role, he was instrumental in opening up the French market for the business, formulating and adapting the business proposition and establishing an excellent network of business contacts in the French marketplace. Prior to this, Xavier spent 13 years with AT&T in Europe where he held several managerial positions in marketing and sales; selling across EMEA and the U.S. He is also a senior lecturer at HEC Montréal; teaching international relations, globalization and international finance. Xavier holds a Master’s in International Business from the University of Paris, Sorbonne and an MBA from Thunderbird. Read more…
